Our Story

South Sudan has in the past years faced a humanitarian and a security crisis due to the secession of South Sudan and the loss of about 90% of export earnings. The country's economy is on its knees, and there is unprecedented political fragmentation. The conflict has intensified competition for resources and contributed to deadly conflict resulting in many people being left without livelihood.

It is based on such an occurrence that GEPO - Give Education A Priority Organization was formed as a way to help the affected people from the great vulnerability. The organization began in July, 2022, when founders saw the challenge faced by the community, especially the food insecurity, lack of clean water, and the core being the lack of education for the vulnerable children in the community. Starting with WARRAP STATE, in the Tonj East, South, and North areas respectively, GEPO has been a game changer for the society at large and now operates as a fully-fledged NGO with plans underway to expand to other areas for greater communal impact.
